Cloud cost and commitment review
The situation
Your cloud bill went up and the vendor is recommending reservations or a savings plan, usually on a one or three year term. The discount looks obvious. Whether it applies to what you run is a different question.
What you get
- A breakdown of what your spend is actually composed of, by service and tier
- What a proposed commitment would genuinely cover, and what it would not
- Whether a different service tier beats the discount outright
- Right-sizing and cleanup targets, with the saving each one carries
- A written recommendation you can take to the vendor
Why it is worth checking
Reservations and savings plans are scoped to particular services and particular tiers. I have stopped a proposed multi-year commitment that would have applied to a small fraction of the bill, and redirected the analysis to the tier comparison that actually moved the number.
Cost
Fixed fee, usually recovered inside the first month.

Often runs alongside a cloud security review, since both start by reading the same infrastructure.
